If I keep posting after I pass the posting limit, what happens to the extra posts. Do they get posted automatically the next day or are they deleted.

It just won't let you. It'll say "You've reached your limit" and then the post button doesn't work. At least, that's what's happened to me. I wasn't even allowed to put them in the queue.
