Why do some people put your information about your personal life on a public forum? - Lexi - 12-30-2013 09:57 PM

Say facebook for example. Im on a website like facebook and some d*** posted some stuff about my personal life on a comment on one of my pics. I messaged him saying that he could have just sent me a message if he had a comment or concern, it was unnecessary to post that where everyone could see. He got defensive and said that theres no rules. I blocked him.

You're on a social networking site...the whole reason they exist is to relay your personal information to the world in a perverse world-wide popularity contest...what did you expect?

Lexi...

That person should not have posted personal information about you, but, you DID post the picture, which left you open to this type of thing. When he said there are "no rules", that is true, in a way. There are still "rules" of friendship and he broke one of them by posting your personal business.

I understand why you blocked this person, but that will not prevent him from posting other personal information about you. The only difference here is that you will not be able to see what he posts. Get it?

Now, let this be a learning experience for you. If you don't want others to comment on things you post, including pictures, DO NOT post them! Anything you want private, keep to yourself. The world does not need to see every picture you take, comment you make or thing that you like.
