Definitely not. The only person that will see your message on Whatsapp is the person that you send the message to. If you start a group conversation, then all of the messages that you send in that group conversation may be seen by those people that are in the group.
When you post statuses on Whatsapp, that WILL be seen by everyone that has you on their own Whatsapp. The same thing goes for your icon. Icons and statuses are seen by everyone that has you on there, even if you haven't started a conversation with them.
