Nothing will happen the friend you are trying to unfriend will not get any notifications or msgs. about your action but your messges will remain on his/her inbox and if he/she tries to find you out, he/she could click your name on those messages and will find "Add as Friend" tag on your profile page and this will get him/her to know that you unfriend him/her.

nothing will happen.
after unfollow you will not get any update notifications of that person whom you are Unfollow

Nothing happens. you will no longer see their status updates and they will not appear on your chat. The worst thing that could happen is that they notice you unfriended them and they get mad, but it's no as easy to notice unless you're like their BESTEST friend and they're always making sure you're on. but they don't get any notification of you unfriending them.
