So it looks like
ADD FRIENDS
*his name* then beside that a person with a + beside it
And under him *her name* with a green box and a tick
And then same again
So has he asked to add me or is snapchat asking me to ad him (stupid question but I'm new to it)

It sounds like he's added you, and Snapchat are seeing if you want to add him back
