When I exit Facebook on my iphone it doesn't actually log me out, it just closed the app and stops it running in the background. I want to know if people still see me as online?

They will see you as away and then you go offline after a while

The only way is to log out entirely, or turn chat off, or just wait for the app to tell facebook it's been closed.

They'll probably see you as online for a while, then you'll be offline

If you have left chat open (you have the option of switching it off) then it will show you as online for a while after you have left… But then it will convert to your timestamp e.g. active 15m (ago). If it's such an issue, turn chat off before you exit Facebook.
