Okay so there is this girl that I barely talked to during the school year that I kinda still have a crush on, but I wanted to try to talk to her during the summer. So I figured why not try to facebook chat her. The problem is that she was never online but she had the little mobile icon next to her name. Then yesterday I messaged her when she liked someone elses photo and said "hey!". It was kinda late at night but I never got a response. But it never showed she read the message in the chat and I am pretty sure her notifications are on. I saw she posted something else on another social network about half an hour later so I have no idea if she saw my message or not. Is it possible that she didnt see it all? Sorry for making it so long!

Some people that I know get messages and don't read them straight away, they do other things on Facebook and open their notifications and messages later on. That the only reason I can think of

Yeah she probably saw it. It happens. Maybe because she doesn't know you that well, she doesn't feel like she has to answer. Which sucks, and is pretty ignorant, but like I said it happens. There's a slight possibility she did, or someone else did and didn't tell her(a friend maybe, who was using her phone.), but I'd say she saw it. Try her again in a day or so.
