Why do guys hide their relationship status on Facebook? - Super Chicken - 01-01-2014 10:43 AM

Okay, there is this guy I know whom I had a relationship with whom I was friends with on Facebook. I deleted him when he started lying to me and harassing me and I found out he was dating another girl. He recently got in touch with me and so I decided to check out his Facebook profile to see if he was in a relationship or something. His relationship status is now hidden and he is no longer on the friend list of the girl he was with (her list is visible, his is not) and her status says "In an Open Relationship". He knows I am still interested in him, but he has not told me whether or not he is in a relationship (I won't friend him or have anything to do with him if he is in one because he used me as a pawn to get this other girl).

Why would he not tell me if he was in a relationship or post his relationship status publicly?
Additional Details
He also has not posted pictures of her at all nor has she posted any pictures of him. However, he STILL has pictures of him and me up on his profile. I don't understand, if he is with her, if he is married to her (or something), why he wouldn't take down the pictures of our time together and replace them with pictures of her and him together if he is so happy with her and doesn't want to see me again.

Some guys are just players.

There are some legitimate reasons not to broadcast relationship status on Facebook, but usually the people who do are private about everything--no current city, minimal photos, etc. That's not your situation here. He's actively shopping around and doesn't want to ruin his chances with his next target.
