If I accidentally poke someone and block them will they still receive the poke? - NeoAegis_Penguin - 01-02-2014 03:02 AM

I was about to block this person, but when I pressed the block button no manual came. I refreshed and tried again and successfully block the person. I am afraid if I accidentally poked them by mistake, if I did poke them and blocked them will that person still see my poke or get notified?

nope! the person will not receive your poke.

When they log onto Facebook, they'll get that red (1) that indicates a notification. When they click on it, either no information will pop up or it will say they were poked but it won't say your name because they're blocked from seeing you. When they log onto FB, they won't see you poked them.

If they were online at the time you poked them, though, they could've seen the poke right when it happened, if they were signed on already and doing whatever on Facebook and got a notification of a poke and checked it before you got the chance to block them.

Also, if they check their email where FB notifications are sent, it will say something like "Someone poked you on Facebook" and in the email will be a link to their FB profile so they can check their notifications but none of it will say your name.

Basically, you're good as long as the person wasn't online when you poked them
