Also, is there a way to make it so that I don't appear in "suggested friends" for other people? I'm getting random friend request ion from people I barely know, I'd rather have my Facebook just to connect with people I actually talk to.

go to your account settings and privacy settings.
that should increase and diffuse any potentialities. though, i'm not sure about hiding you from any friends lists.. though you can move the setting from "everyone" to "friends of friends" down next "friends only".
