How do you tell if someone really deactivated their Facebook page, or just made themselves private? - jackie danger - 01-02-2014 07:40 PM

Noticed a colleague of mine vanished from the FB chat list, then saw that her page had the "Sorry, the link is broken" message - she's still on my friends list, but when I click I get the box that says "Acct. deactivated, you have the option to unfriend" - searched her from a different account and she doesn't show up at all. For awhile, her avatar on my friends list had the grayed out icon, but now her photo has popped back up, but I still can't click on her. I also notice for awhile that if I did a search for any of her friends, the "1 mutual friend" notice would be next to their photo in the search window, but if I go to that friends page, it does NOT say "1 mutual friend" - all her messages are still in my message box - and I did the thing where you report the conversation and it did NOT show me as blocked

So, sorry for all that info - but what do you think? Did she just deactivate her account completely, or did she change her settings so she just doesn't show up to people outside her close friends? Just wondering.

You'd be able to see her if she had the privacy turned up, but there wouldn't be much on her profile. I'd suggest her account is deleted if you're not blocked, yet nothing comes up. She may also not be using her real name.

ask your friend to go on your friends facebook. if your friend see's the facebook, she made it private- if not than she deactivated.
