How to stop feeling sad over nobody liking my Facebook pictures? - LittleMonster - 01-03-2014 08:39 PM

I'm an 18 year old girl, and I have about 500 friends on Facebook. I try not to get down over these things because I know how ridiculous it is to let Facebook upset you or ruin your self-esteem. I've been told I'm pretty, and I try to upload a picture now and then onto Facebook and I try to make sure it's a nice one. I changed my profile picture just the other day to one that I thought was fairly nice. I never get any likes. At all. Maybe one or two at the most. It just makes me feel like a loser. My friends usually get about 20 or 30 likes on all their pictures. It just gets me down because then I start second-guessing myself or the picture I've uploaded. Like, maybe I'm super ugly. This is so stupid I know, but how can I stop letting it affect me?

If Facebook is getting you upset, turn it off.

Problem is... you have 500 facebook friends... not REAL friends. Most people like to "friend collect" meaning, they make a friend request simply to make their friends list go up so they can brag about how many people follow them online.

These are people you will most likely never meet in real life. Want to get over it? Stop caring what people you'll never meet, who aren't your real friends, think about how you look.

The ones that matter are the ones who love you... and besides, we're more than the sum of our looks. Do something nice for someone else... hold open a door for an elderly woman, donate time to walk dogs at the animals shelter. It's much more satisfying to be recognized for good deeds, than good looks.

Like, maybe you are super ugly.
Why does everyone think their a frickin model?

Damn. Facebook is just a mess. I dont even use it. You will only get more likes on your pictures if you stay active or be more plastic to anyone. Dont feel sad at all. Step it up and think more impotant things than caring about other people likes.

in first place you don't need of likes to be more or less in our society has a lot of likes or be a "girl of moment" in social networks it's a very superficial sorry for that but it's the truth. But I'm not here for do any kind of speculation , i even know you but if i has one thing for say is : you can be more that these people judge you don't need the opinion of any one it's a only person that have to like how you look , and this person it's you , only you if your friends received a lot of likes this don't say anything believe me i know a lot of people in your age that has the same problem and them judge yourself as very ugly , but that's no truth they are very very beautiful but because they don't have a likes on facebook or in instagram they don't feel this so thinking about that if you realy need of likes , for be a beautiful girl .
and a last tip : before of all believe in your self =)
