It's my own [current] profile pic, and I want to tag myself in it so that it can appear in my photos on my timeline too, but does that mean it will come up on everyones news feed? Thanks

It won't come up on anyone news feed if you've already uploaded the picture and you are adding the tag later on.
Tagging pictures don't show on news feeds, just uploading the picture.
