I've ended all active sessions, turned off chat on my laptop, logged out of Facebook on my laptop, deleted both the Facebook app and Messenger app on my iPhone and it STILL says I'm online. How do I get rid of the green dot next to my name?

It does that even if you have the app on your phone.. its the same here with me, but I remember logging out on the app before and its offline..

it happened wid me too! either it can be someone hacking ur account or u might not have logged out from ur cell phone app! but for a safer side, change ur password!

If you have logged onto facebook with some else's laptop or phone you could still be logged on. You need to go into settings and end other sessions. You can find out by clicking the little gear symbol and then click account settings then click then click security. Then you will see active sessions. You can end all active sessions
