My phone automattically updated to the new facebook messenger application, and apparently the new "fixes" on that application are that there is no longer an easy way to log out. I like using the messenger applicaton because when I am not in class I can just loggin and chat with my friends. But I am very annoyed that I can no longer loggout of the application because now, I am getting messages when I am asleep, when I am testing, trying to study, it is really all just very irritating. I would highly appreciate it if anyone had any insight as to what I could do, or am I just going to have to uninstall the facebook messenger app completely?

Try going to the settings application .. It's suppose to be there

You didn't say which phone...
I got to settings and then applications and stop the program/app.
Force stop. It will warn you, but it does nothing.
I do it for FB and other apps as well, that wont close down.
Using my memory and battery.

You have to log out of both.
