When a business holds a "contest" where they say "like for one entry, share for 5, comment for another entry" how could it possibly be tallied up and how would this draw take place? It seems like a load of BS and that there is really no way to increase your odds of winning.

Those are strategies that are just so that they get publicity. The more people share, the more people will see their contest. Try using hidemeprox.com to run anonymously and get yourself more then 1 entry. good luck

those things are just scams to trick people into sharing the page and getting likes - there is no actual way to tally the results
