I know social media isn't that important blah blah blah I just feel like seeing if I can get more. I've hash tagged everything, had shoutouts on shoutout pages and no one followed me lol. I post the same kinds of things other people who have a 1000 followers do. Am I missing something?

1) Shoutout pages don't work. It's a method that 99.9% of people try with no results.
2) Post meaningful, relevent, and content which is the same. ie if you're into cars, post cars. Don't post what you had for lunch.
3) Connect with other Instagram users. Like and comment on a few like-minded people's photos. Extend goodwill.
4) Use descriptive hash tags. For example, you have a cat picture. Describe your cat. I.e #sweet #adorable #instakitty
5) Branch out a little and share your photos as often as you can on other social networks. I.e. Facebook/Twitter
