please help me to get back to the way it was PRIOR to new format. thank you all for input

this is the new YAHOO format board; NOT FACEBOOK. so your above suggestions won't work for me.
can you help me on the YAHOO format so i can view and use 100% of the screen? thx

you just click on the "messages" link on the left on your homepage (not your timeline)
