Sex and gender are interchangeable terms when asking for gender. When I apply for things, it almost always says "sex" instead of "gender".

Someone CAN have gender identity issues, but not sex identity issues, unless they're REALLY stupid. It's not stupid at all to have genre identity issues.

Huh I didn't understand you question. Did you mean WHY do people say sex when theY mean gender?
well if it is then they use it because both *sex* and *gender* mean the same. Simple as that.
just like sex has two meanings. One is gender and the the other one is you know that im not gonna explain all
, also saying sex instead of gender is more formal. if you see while creating an account on facebook for eg. you see that they write sex instead of gender.So i thiunk that's the reason you can use both actually.Thanks for reading ☺ ^_^
