i've gone through the previous suggestions given by experts and went to the Developers page of facebook
but i didn't see the option 'edit app'
what do i do to remove the timeline now?
its pretty inconvenient

There's no way to remove it. Although for the moment Facebook did not make a clear statement in any of its official pages about how the upgrade would be deployed, and as a consequence there is a lot of false information going around, experienced users know that Facebook upgrades of this size have never been optional.
Besides, there are clear evidences that indicate that there will be no way to go back to the old Profile. Take a look at the article in the source to see what those evidences are.

The Developers option was for those that wanted to see Timeline before it was launched globally. Timeline is the new look for everyone's profiles. No way to remove

there is no way to remove it - everyone is being converted to the timeline - it's the new look for facebook
