The odds are against you, give up

Sounds like you need to call customer service for Comcast.

Call comcast to check their end is up first please.

If they're up, get a spyware malwarey program because this is what causes this. Specifically, what those things do is turn on a proxy mode for internet so your computer is looking for a server to dial through to get to the internet, when that server doesn't exist, thus nothing works.

Hey Normality, this could be a few things but I'll try my best to point you in the correct direction based on the information you provided.

Step 1: Connect you computer directly to the modem.
Step 2: Make sure the lights on the modem are all on.
(If the internet isn't working yet continue)
Step 3: Replace the ethernet cable with a known working one.
Step 4: Power cycle your cable modem (Unplug it then plug it back in.
(If the internet isn't working yet continue)
Step 5: Release then Renew your IP address.

Step 6: Replace the modem.

Step 7: Reinstall the drivers for the LAN card.

Step 8: Replace LAN card.

Step 9: You might need to have your network checked by a local service provider.
