You go onto their profile, and if you scroll down, on the left side of the page will have a few links, and one says "remove from friends".

go to the accounts button (the one you're clicking when u are logging out..)
then click edit friends
then on the left side of the window, click friends..
then you're friends list will appear ..
there will be letter x or the close sign after your friends name..
for example:
hana miku sakura takehisa x
all you have to do is to click the x button to delete him/her as a friend
