high school social problem? - douggie - 02-19-2014 12:22 PM

I'm in high school and i feel like im at the point where i dont care if i have friends or not, is this normal? In middle school i talked to almost everyone but now in high school i hardly talk to anyone, i have my little group of people i talk to but that's it, im usually walking by myself in the halls which does make me feel kinda lonely but at the same time i feel like i would rather be alone then have friends at my school. I don't really want to talk to any of the kids and most of them don't talk to me, i want to be more social but at the same time i dont care.

Eh, it happens. (Actually, there is no definition of 'normal'.)

If you feel like you would rather be alone, that's fine. I also only had a small group of friends when I was in high-school. There's no need to be "Mr. Popularity" (although that's the message that anonymous society and mass media is trying to 'program' you with).

Truth is ... when high-school ends, everyone goes their separate paths in life anyway. Some go to college; some go into the workforce. Some move away.

However, later in life, if you still carry that "I don't care about making friends" thought-pattern, well, don't expect to have any friends. The 'loneliness' thought-pattern may well increase because of that.
