I received a message saying they would like to purchase my Facebook page that has 200,000 likes for $2,000. They said it can be done over Paypal? Can i trust this?

David, i have sold a lot Social networking pages. And my advice to you is do not every trust anyone. Simply because businesses are not allowed to do so, because selling pages is not allowed. So it is most likely that this is an individual offering you money.
Paypal is a very shady way to go because once he paid you he can always pull the money. And once you have given him the login details you are basically screwed because you can not even go to facebook and tell them what happen to you because you will be in trouble for not following their T&C. So my suggestion is to take the money via bank account and withdraw it first, or you can let him pay via paypal and withdraw it but you have to wait, once the money is in and in your hands message the login details via secure e-mail.
If i were you i would not sell it for 2k, i would make people pay £50 a pop for advertising, you would make more money like that.

Again, If I were you, first I wouldn't sell it first then it belongs to you anyway.
Ask the seller to pay the money first in your paypal account or if possible ask him to pay you cash because even if he paid the money into your paypal account he then can cancel the transaction at the time your Facebook page would have gone as well.
