What is the best way to raise money for a specific cause? - Leigh - 02-19-2014 12:25 PM
I want to do a fundraiser to support the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). I am a college student, so I opened up a link to donate on facebook. How can I be more productive and raise more money for this cause?

maybe like a bake sale or garage sale or ask a local restaurant to sponser the casue and the charity gets 7% of the profits made

Did you go around and get donations from places such as Petshops, vets, and so on... most places will atleast donate something that you could sell raffle tickets for... good luck!

1)ask stores(wal-mart) is they would like to donate
2)ask friend
3)ask family
4)neighbors
5)tell people its for a good cause
6)tell people its charity

Do services or make things that people REALLY want. Have a bakesale or have people buy "coupons" that have some of the voulenteers clean houses or mow lawns, and donate the proceeds to the charity. It will make the people feel like they have put their money to a good cause and gotten some good use out of it.

Bake sale, sell raffle tickets, car wash, yard work etc.
While they are a good organization, they have a bunch of money. You may have more of an impact if you help fund raise for a local shelter or rescue group. Then you can offer TIME that is needed as much as money.
Check out Petfinder.com and put in your zip. It will give you some of the local rescues in your area. It's very rewarding work.

Have time to work with it a little?
- Set up a booth at a Trade Fair, etc - raise awareness.
- Set up a booth at a Farmers Market - Sell something to raise funds and awareness.

You should probably try to host an event on your campus or in the community surrounding your campus.
Some event ideas:
a walk (like breast cancer walk or AIDs walk)
a cookout/ bbq or some type of selling of food
car wash in warmer months
raffle something

Try to make flyer's telling about your cause,try washing cars or do any service for people that u will get payed,u could try selling something.
