How closely does Facebook monitor account activity? - cooingcloth297 - 02-19-2014 12:25 PM

I am writing a report on Facebook and am having trouble finding resources.

How closely does Facebook monitor the account activity of its members? How quickly does it notice oddities or potentially "bad" behavior? I'm curious.

I doubt there is anything along the lines of what you're asking regarding monitoring of Facebook accounts BY Facebook other than following their terms and conditions.

Your government likely has free access to ALL information that passes over your country's infrastructure to and from any site. They may trigger certain terms or phrases as 'of interest' and follow them up.

The ignorant press have labelled some recent repulsive child abusers as 'facebook fiends' but they might have well have called them telephone fiends or mail fiends - they just happened to communicate occasionally using Facebook among other means. In fact the internet provides easily traceable evidence in any crime like this and has brought to light and solved many such crimes that would have been impossible to even detect previously - sorry, rant over!
