Computer is slow because of advertisements? - Happydock306 - 02-19-2014 12:27 PM

Recently ive noticed that on YouTube and Facebook there has been advertisements that were never ever there! And they appear EVERYWHERE ! Ive been using some roms at doperoms.com and that were ive seen all those advertisements before and i was wondering if i got a virus from it? If not why are all those advertisements there? And how do i get rid of them?! Oh yea and my laptop has been so much slower now, videos take longer to load and websites take long to load also, (i have windows 7btw) Thanks for the help !

I suggest that you switch to "firefox" and set up "AdBlockPlus". This should get rid of about 95% of all advertisments. If you see anymore just right click one them and go to the "Adblock plus" option that should prevent you from receiving the type of add. Websites will take much less time to load since they won't have to fetch for the ads.
As for the speed of you're computer that can be fixed by various different thing from cleaning you're temp files by using "CCleaner" (or equivalent) http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner.
also the registry could be damaged (CCleaner can also fix that) and you're hard drive could be fragmented.
I could also be a need for more RAM and or better CPU.

But AdBlock is a must.
