my dell laptop fell down and the display is white with some lines and the system gives some beep sound...? - shailesh - 02-19-2014 12:28 PM

can this laptop be fixed?

Did it fall down by it's self? Sounds to me like it was dropped. Kidding aside--typically when the screen is white or has multiple horizontal lines it is more than likely fried and can't be fixed.

sure it can be fixed - for a price. Dell have a good repair network

Take it to a workshop for a estimate

Hi shailesh,

I am Kaveri from the Dell Social Media Outreach team.

Run hardware diagnostics. If all tests are passed, it confirms that the issue is not with hardware on the computer.

- Press the power button to turn on the system
- Press F12 repeatedly or Fn+power until you see boot menu
- Select diagnostic

If you get lines on the LCD while running the test, that means LCD is faulty and needs replacement. Also count the number of beeps that you get when you start the system.

Kindly mention the system service tag, so that we can help you further on this issue.

In case of any further assistance Please feel free to contact me directly by sending a reply to this blog.
We would recommend you do not post your private information on a public forum.

Thanks & Regards
