I have an account i just made it but I'm not gonna share it because it's a personal account for my friends and family. Anyways what do I do to get followers? I don't have a Facebook and I want to do hashtags because those are annoying.

Follow other people so they follow you back or I know you said you don't like hashtags but you could search up followforfollow and follow people who's pictures come up

Text your friends and family with your Instagram name eg @yahooquestioner and say I've just joined Instagram, follow me and il follow back.
Also if you put a photo up then for example #american then other people who are interested in Americans will search #american they might see your photo like it and follow you xx

I'm finding you contradictory. You said it is personal for friends and family. However, you are asking for followers.... Other than your friends and family? Make up your mind.
