How do I get over a crush on an R.A.? - Mark Smith - 02-19-2014 12:31 PM
I am a Freshman in college. Currently, there is an R.A. in the building, who I am good friends with, and happen to be attracted to. We have been talking and getting to know each other over the past 3 months, which is a term, and am trying to figure out what to do about my attraction. We cannot date because, first of all, she is an R.A. Residents cannot date R.A.'s, so that pretty much ruins it. But, I know she has a boyfriend, because she has mentioned him previously. Also, my new Facebook profile does not help, since it is so much easier for me to stare at her on her profile. Clearly, I must move on, as hard as it will be to do. However, does this mean we cannot be good friends? I am applying to be an R.A. for next year, and if things pan out, we could end up dating. So, what do I do? How do I go about dealing with this situation? Is it time to move on, or not?
