Facebook group: what additional privileges does a group creator over an admin? - Donthaveanid Withyawhoo - 02-19-2014 12:31 PM

I know that the creator of a Facebook group is automatically an admin, and s/he can appoint other members as admins too who will be able to do what s/he can do. Now, for example, will any of these new admins be able to remove the group creator from her/his own group and then become a new owner/creator?

Once you are a creator of a group, you can never have that title stripped away. If you leave the group, many times it will just not mention the creator and simply list the admins as admins. Once you give admin rights to someone else, they have the power to remove, promote, and manage the group the same way you do. So, unless you really trust whoever you are promoting to admin, i would just keep yourself in control and stick with that.

I agree with Hammer&Screwdriver. Once you create a group on Facebook your name will stay as a creator under the list of admins. Even after you promoted a member to become an admin you still have more control than any new admins. They can do as much as you can to the group and other members. The only thing they cannot do is to remove you from the group, but you still can remove yourself and them.

I hope this helps and give you a peace of mind Smile
