Is it alright to wish friends a happy valentines day? - Josh - 02-19-2014 12:32 PM

My parents told me not to wish my friends who are girls (and who I want to keep friendships with) a happy valentines day as its only for lovers or people in relationships.

Is my parents right or is it alright to wish my friends a happy valentines day over Facebook by just saying "Happy Valentines Day [name] "?
I forgot to put the down I will post a smily face after the wish so it would be "Happy Valentines Day [name] Smile"

Sometimes it can be the only Valentine wish they get, so it is a nice gesture. Assuming none of them are super into you and understand you're wishing them a happy Valentine as a friend, you should be cool to do it.

I would also suggest not doing it over Facebook, only because there is no tone or expression over the internet, which means it could be misread and misinterpreted by a lot of people. Smile

What? I can't believe your parents said that. Valentines is for everyone...
