should i get a waterproof camera or a waterproof iphone 5 case? - Brianna - 02-19-2014 12:33 PM

There are pros and cons of each

CAMERA PROS
it will be completely waterproof.
better quality of pictures
some float on water
CONS:
you cant directly upload pics to instagram/facebook
you have to leave you phone behind( when getting in water)
you need a cord to upload them.

iphone5 PROS
you get to keep in contact with people while on the water
upload directly to social media sites
one devices that does it all

CONS
possibility that the case can fail you and you have to buy a new phone Sad $$$
lower quality photos than a camara
difficult to make phone calls
muffled sounds on videos
caller cant hear you.

I cant decide!!! help! I REALLY DONT WANT MY PHONE TO BE RUINED. AND I NEED THE MOST RELIABLE CASE OR CAMERA. WHICH ROUTE SHOULD I TAKE??

I have the lifeproof iphone 5 waterproof case. It doesn't affect sound quality at all, it comes with a water damage warrantee they'll replace your phone if it's water damaged in the case, they make a float for it. It adds a little bulk but it's cool. Picture quality is still as great as ever. Don't buy a camera it would be a waste of money str8^

If you are diving into deep waters, most Iphone cases wont work. But if you are only filming yourself in swimming pools, I suppose Iphone cases will be fine.

get an iphone 5 case, but make sure you get a reliable one. They are also cheaper, and I don't think you need a camera just for filming around in a swimming pool. Uploading pics to your phone can also be such a hassle.

You have made it clear that having a phone with you at all times is more important than image quality and that you would prefer not to have two gadgets. Therefore get the best waterproof camera case you can afford.

Alternatively get a Sony Z1 and set it up so that it can synch important data with your iphone

What about a go pro hero 3 or 3+ as this can connect up to your iPhone so you can upload images!
