How can I fix a profile virus? - Young Achievers - 02-19-2014 12:34 PM
I can't log into my computer because it says: The User Profile Service failed to log on: the profile cannot be loaded.
I googled and I am being told to create a new user by pressing start. The problem is that there is no start button. I am the only user on my profile. the only button on the start up window asks me to restart, shut down or sleep. Other than that i have the prompt for my password which gives the message above.
Can anyone help me? It is windows 7

Hello Young Achievers,
What you will need to do is boot your computer into safe mode to to actually do the fix.
How to get into safe mode?
Hit "f8" key upon turning on your computer you should see advance options menu. You should see safe mode. Hit enter.
Follow this guide from Microsoft should be able to edit the correct SID key.

If you are unsure on how to operate within the registry in windows, please take it to a local computer repair shop and have them take a look at it. If you edit the wrong thing in the registry then you could cause your system to be inoperable. Also I would highly recommend doing a data backup as well.
If all else fails you can just create a new user account and migrate your user data to that new user account.
