Stock Market Question? - MovieLuvr - 02-19-2014 12:34 PM

I know absolutely nothing about how to read stock market reports. I've looked at many of investment websites and I still don't understand. Can someone please tell me what the number of shares, the price per shares, and the cost of the following companies?

Subways
Facebook
Walmart

Thank you. And please tell me how you were able to find the numbers.

Go to Yahoo Finance
http://finance.yahoo.com/

Type in the name of the company or their ticker symbol; I'll use Facebook
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=fb&ql=1

Facebook, Inc. (FB)
57.66 Down 0.57(0.98%) 1:29PM EST - Nasdaq Real Time Price

The price for one share is quoted as $57.66, down 0.57 cents for the day, or down about 1%.

For the number of shares outstanding, click on Key Statistics on the left sidebar

Shares Outstanding5:2.45B

If you don't know what that means, define your terms at Investopedia or Wiki.

It is not clear what you mean by the "cost of the company." Do you mean buy-out cost. Or are you interested in the worth of the company?
