I want to prove that Facebook brand itself just with the internet and not conventional media like magazine, radio...what do you think? What is the strategies that Facebook use to get famous? is there advertisement about facebook??

Because its the only connection website for college students and it took off from there..so many people heard about it and wanted to be on it, FB expanded so that anyone can get on it. but it is geared for college students.
i think FB took ideas from MS and just flipped it. To me FB is annoying now, too much crap on the site and it makes your page look crowded..

Facebook became successful because they started out catering to a niche market. When it was only for Harvard students, students at other schools wanted to sign on so the website expanded. Then high school students really wanted to join, so they expanded again, and then they opened it up to everyone. It wouldn't have been popular if it was open to anyone from day 1. Look at what happened to Friendster.
