Anyone who works in law, or knows about law (specifically foreclosure)? - xoGinaxo - 02-19-2014 12:37 PM

My aunt was telling me about a job within the law firm that she works for that involves basically tracking down people via social networking sites like facebook, twitter, etc. and serving them their foreclosure papers. What exactly is the job title of this?
The person who searches for the person via facebook or twitter WOULD NOT be the one actually serving the papers.

To be honest, the job title would be "bottom feeder" or "scumbag." Anyone facing foreclosure is able to be traced by the lender. People in the collections field are the worst of the worst. A profession to be avoided, at all costs.

Research assistant, clerk, etc.

Interesting that Lorraine thinks that collecting on debt is scummy, but stealing from the bank is ok.

I would think there is this position for general lawsuits.
But for foreclosures, aren't they living in the house rent free? It wouldn't be often that they would be hiding.

It's just a research assistant, clerk, etc. And they also wouldn't be solely looking at social media. Most of it would probably be credit reports.

Why don't you ask your aunt? She should know the job title.
