sorry to be so harsh but if your biggest worry in life is who has the most friends on facebook ,you need to get out more.

lol. yer not supposed to count for facebook >.< that's why it's different from myspace =P I have 1022 though. and err... sophia bush's acct is official, so she probably has tons more. you can go for the faceoff application to check that out for counting, and the top friends application makes it myspacey. add me to see these functions: Stephen Chiao "Berkeley '11" =P

I know at one point, Steve Hofstetter had approx. 200,000 friends on Facebook. (He started out on a quest to get 10,000, then 100,000... The friends kept coming.) However, they reset his profile after his profile started to slow down Facebook. You can read about it in the link below.
His current profile is full (5000 friends-ish), so he made a group for more people who want to follow him.
I believe Steve has the most, but I'm not sure of that. It seems like it would be him though. I can't imagine Facebook giving out the name of the person with the most friends though; that would violate some privacy thing, I'd think.
