How do I prevent someone from Hacking into my e-mail from facebook? - Honninscrave - 02-19-2014 12:40 PM

Someone has used my Facebook id to hack into my e-mail address book and send links to advertisements to everyone in my address book. This has happened more than once.

First read this to understand how facebook accounts are "hacked"
http://cognitivity.org/showthread.php?83-Social-Networking-and-Email-Hacking&p=151#post151

then maybe you will understand the methods needed to prevent being compromised.

.
NEVER use the same password for your facebook login and e-mail associated with it. that's a mistake a lot of people make. if a hacker gets into your facebook and finds your password, he's gonna try the same one for your e-mail too. always use a different password for any site that requires you to login. if you have to, save your passwords on a text file so you will be able to remember them.

First off, if your profile shows your email address under the info section I would change that immediately. Cause then it's just out there for the world.

Second, Make sure that your different things have different passwords that aren't real obvious or easy for people to figure out. And I would even change your password pretty often so that if they do happen to figure it out they won't have it for long.
