I went to one of my friends' facebooking pages and it says "following" on her page. I'm confused because I've never actually followed her. What criteria does Facebook use to consider someone your follower? I'm wondering why it has me following someone I never actually chose to follow.

if you're in her friendlist you'll automatically get added into their follower list.

When you add someone you automatically follow them and when you delete them you're still following them. Just simply click unfollow.

It's probably because you're friends with them and automatically following them
