Can I sue facebook for a fake profile of me? - A - 02-19-2014 12:43 PM

Someone created a fake profile of me and is putting bad things as my description. Can I sue facebook for this?

- Early - 02-19-2014 12:48 PM

No, facebook didn’t make the profile. An individual did. If you want to try to sue, find the individual who did it.

And be prepared to dish out thousands for a lawyer. Just thought i would add that in since everyone wants to sue everyone until they see the cost associated with filing suit.

Of course not.

Contact them and they will delete it, that is the limit of their responsibility.

No, all you can do is report it to facebook so that they can remove it. It is no way there fault that someone made a fake profile.

Facebook isnt responsible for making fake profiles, so no.

No. You can contact them and get it deleted, and you can sue the individual, but not facebook itself.

no

NO..but you can definitely tell them to take it off because somebody else on the web is ruining your immage.

it is probably one of your friends trying to be stupid or funny. Facebook is not responsible for the profile because they do not create profiles, someone used your information without your knowledge.

NO, but you could try suing the person who did it.
