How can I stop getting Facebook notifications from friends' status updates?
Recently I have been getting annoying notifications every time certain friends update their status, upload a picture, or do really anything. I have 0 people on any special friend list, so the "turn your close friends notification button off" answer doesn't work for me. Can anyone help me?
To clarify, my friend Bob will post a status saying "I like cheese" which has nothing to do with me, and for some reason I am getting notified of this. None of the below answers did anything. Ads |

when you comment on a post made by someone else, you are automatically "following" that post, and will get notifications.... to prevent it, go back to that post, and click the "unfollow" link at the top of the post

I think it's a bug or something. The same thing has happened to me and I agree it is incredibly annoying!!! If you look on the Facebook help centre, some people have asked the same question -- They haven't had answers either!!! I'm going to keep an eye on them though...
