Why is facebook always advertising links to albums with my ex-girlfriend in?

When ever I look at any photo I get these adverts at the right of the screen. There entitled 'Photo memories' and they say;

'[ex's name] and [number] other friend are tagged.

Is facebook trying to make me feel bad? Or is it trying to get us back? Or is my ex paying for these adverts to persuade me back :/ so confused

It's probably because you used to have lots of facebook activity with this person, or that you currently still frequent their profile.
