Christmas Present Problem: If someone only plans to play Runescape and surf the web: netbook or notebook?
I plan to get my brother either a netbook or a laptop for Christmas. I know all he'll do with it is play Runescape, watch YouTube (and probably Hulu), check his email, and use Facebook. So, which one will do all that stuff well enough to make it worth the money?

I have a netbook and I love it. The screen and keyboard are a little small, after a few hours I need a break (this could be a good thing if he plays Runescape a little too much). But otherwise it is very portable and I get over 4 hours of battery life.
I would recommend getting one with Linux installed as opposed to Windows (Dell uses Ubuntu, highly recommended); its faster, no worries about viruses or mal-ware, easier to install programs, easier to keep the software up-to date, and cheaper. If he wants, he can install Windows later. |

Netbook would be fine, but the only bad thing about the netbook is that they dont have disk drives.
I know that bestbuy is having a sale on laptops this week, some of which are cheaper than the netbooks. There is a gateway laptop with 320GB hard drive that come with a carrying case and wireless mouse for $429! Hope that helps! |

A Nice Netbook with atleast 1Gb memory ram would be good enough.
