I want to unstand twitter...can anyone help?
My goal this summer is to understand Twitter and be able to Tweet like all the pros. I have two questions.
What does RT stand for? What is with the # symbol? Ads |

RT stands for "Re-tweet". When you see this, it means that they have re-posted someone elses tweet to share with their followers. This webpage should help you out http://support.twitter.com/articles/7760...retweet-rt
The # symbol is called a hashtag. People use the hashtag symbol # before keywords in their Tweet to categorize those Tweets to show more easily in Twitter Search. Clicking on a hashtagged word in any message shows you all other Tweets in that category that other people have tweeted. Hashtags can occur anywhere in the Tweet. Hashtagged words that become very popular by lots of people tweeting them are often "Trending Topics" which you see in the right sidebar. Ads |
