NBC The Voice twitter?
every time someone tweets and rights a comment or something the sometimes put # before whatever they write I just want to know why they do that what does it mean (i.e. #teamXtina, #top8, #voicetour...etc.)
what is with the # sign?? Ads |

Those are called hashtags. In the Twitter world, its kind of a pointless thing we all do. It's like a word or phrase that describes your tweet.
For example, Charlie Sheen always tweets: #winning Or.. The Voice #teamXtina, #top8 #voicetour ----> a way for fans to connect by clicking those! Ads |

if your on twitter your obviously wasting your time in the first place
but.... The hash mark (#) before a word in a post allows you to tag that post for that word. However, in order to get tracked via a hash tag, you need to opt-in and follow http://www.Hashtags.org. If you then visit Hashtags.org, you can click on any tag and it will show you all of the posts that have been tagged with that keyword. |
