How can I increase sales in my small business marketing group?
I set up a small business marketing group in a rural part of Ireland for similar sole traders that are struggling. It consists of 20 members offering a variety of trades and services to mainly domestic customers. We plan to make a joint group brochure and work for each other for free marketing each members business to our own individual customers thus supplying each other with new customers and markets. What other inexpensive technique can we employ other than social media, cold calling etc.

To increase the sales of your business, I would suggest you to carry out social media activities. Establish your online presence and create awareness about your business. Write blogs and articles to provide content support to your business. Share videos so that your audience can have a more interactive experience with your business. Fully use LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook to promote your business. These are free but highly potential sites to spread the word.

Honestly if you have a website set up and implement proper SEO, PPC, Social Media and Cold Calling...You are golden.
SEO is by preference-- It will pay off in the long run. PPC should be managed by someone who has knowledge of the field. Trust me, you don't want to go overboard on blowing a budget here. Social Media is CRUCIAL for Social traffic and gaining referals. Call 888-749-8397, they can help with actually figuring out a GOOD campaign to get steady and recurring customers. Cold Calling...The backbone to any business thats a startup. |

Social media will have a huge impact depending on the type of your target market, age group, type of business/businesses you have. You mentioned that your customers are mainly locals, social media has less value here, especially for age groups 40 and above. Honestly, you have to provide specific information in order to have a customized type of marketing.
Guerilla marketing works effectively, partner with local stores to make your brand and services known, offer sales and coupons for people to try out your service which they may come back for more if they are satisfied, etc. You said this is a joint venture, ever considered using an online asset management tools (http://www.sysaid.com/free-asset-managem...ftware.htm ) to monitor your inventory, progress, stocks, etc? Having a partner (what more with 20 people) needs an open communication from time to time, and keeping your business facts online will make things easier for everyone to monitor its progress and to avoid miscommunication. This is still part on increasing your sales, having good relationship with your partners, and business. |
