just try to tweet things relevant to other users. the @person is when u want to reply to another user or mention someone in a tweet. but just tweet things others like and maybe ppl will follow u.

With my @BodyByChocolate account I have a focus. People that follow me know that they will hear about healthy chocolate. However, I too would be boring if that is all that I talked about. That's why I also tweet on health related issues (actually they are auto tweets) but highly relevant to the audience that is following me.
I also use TweetDeck to search for other people who make excellent posts and I RT what they right. RT means that I am retweeting their tweets. Not focusing only on myself all the time helps to build community and people pay more attention to my tweets. That's also why I use Tweet Grader which is a tool worth checking out but not directly relevant to your question. Twitter itself has created a nice option where you can search the Twitter database on a specific keyword. The theory here is that if someone is tweeting related to a specific word they are likely interested in that topic. Especially if they use a hashtag (#) to make their tweet. Putting a hashtag before a specific word makes your tweet be listed under that specific keyword. The @ sign goes before each tweet when you are tweeting a specific person. This can happen when you are responding to someone's tweet, saying thanks for an RT to a specific person, or recognizing a given individual within a specific event like #FollowFriday, #FollowOrSwallow, or #WickedWednesday. Hope that helps. If you have additional questions please ask the Body By Chocolate man on Twitter. ===> http://twitter.com/BodyByChocolate ===> http://bodybychocolates.com/xo/gs/guy.htm |
