How should I go about buying a new phone?
So, a bit of background- I'm a male high school student in Sydney, NSW and am looking into buying a new phone, and a new plan. I also need a new iPod, so I was thinking of getting an iPhone 4s, like a 2in1 kind of thing. I'm currently with Vodafone now, with a crappy pre-paid deal, because my parents thought I would be using credit at a extremely low rate. I was hoping to keep my number, but my real question is, do I buy the phone through a plan or outright and pick up a seperate, probably cheaper plan? And would I be able to use any carrier or can it only be Vodafone, Optus and Telstra. Any answers are appreciated.

First you Need to be 18 years of age to sign up for a plan, however their are some good handsets you can Buy Outright through Dick Smith.
In Terms Of Plans with an Outright phone I would Choose Amaysim. It Runs on the Optus 3G network and the Offer is Very Good: $39 Prepaid once a Month For: Unlimited Calls, SMS and MMS 4GB of Data Unlimited access to Facebook, Ebay and Twitter through the Official Mobile Websites or Apps If you choose the Above offer it is important you remember that you need to buy an Outright Handset that Supports 3G 900/2100 Their is also Vaya Mobile, but again you have to bring your own Handset $11 a month for: $500 worth of calls and txt 1.5GB of Data Ads |
