How can I focus on homework and not the internet?
I have to type my assignments so I'm sitting at the computer anyway but instead of doing homework I keep being on the internet, checking my facebook and twitter every 5 minutes, and it's not like I find something new everytime I recheck them...How do I stop it?

Tell your parents to hide the ethernet cable.

Disconnect. Un-plug your modem. Shut down the PC. Un-plug the main power supply. now, sit and study. If u want to check your facebook and twitter, u will be too bored to reconnect the system. Or you can just exercise your will power to not open facebook.

Unplug the internet from your computer.
Or if you have wireless, turn it off until you are done with your homework. You need to fight your internet addiction. That is something that most people now are having to fight is internet addiction. I know I have it, but we just have to learn to take it in small doses and discipline ourselves from it. Besides think of it this way: Your friends updating their status's, and/or commenting on your posts can be checked anytime. But your assignment has to be done now. And the status's/replies aren't nearly as important in the long run as this homework assignment. Since this assignment will be apart of your grade, and your final grade in the class will be on your permanent record forever. While facebook/twitter status's/replies will be forgotten in 10 minutes or less. |

Maybe go for a little walk to get some fresh air then you can focus easier on assignments. Unplug the internet, and if you need a break instead of checking Facebook just go get a glass of water or something.
I think the main thing is to keep yourself busy so you don't feel the need to check Facebook or Twitter, after all that's about other peoples lives when you should be concentrating on your own. And like you said, it's not like anything interesting happens on there so just keep that in mind |
